Inspiration

Edgar Rice Burroughs gained most of his fame for his Tarzan books -- so much so that a city in Southern California is actually named after the jungle king...Tarzana, CA.  While a guy living among the apes, fighting lions and saving damsels in distress may be ok for some folks, I prefer Burroughs tales of Mars.

The first character the hero of these tales, John Carter, meets upon the dead seas of Mars, is none other than the 15 foot tall sword wielding, 6 limbed, fearsome warrior of the Tharks named Tars Tarkas.  Together they would form a bond of friendship that would break through racial prejudices, overthrow corrupt and cowardly leaders and save the dying planet.

I've made several versions of this character, because he's not only anatomically challenging, but because he's just so darn cool.
